Splint heading north to Ft Scratchley

Had a great afternoon flying yesterday. When I got to DP Rick Duncan was there testing a few C4s. Seabreeze was saying south but it was pretty square on.

2 passes after launch and I was on my way to Strezi. Rounded the car park at fence height and then there was abundant lift. The lift was not as good as I would have expected from the white caps on the ocean but I think the wind was slowly moving to the east. There was nice bubbles coming through though and in the C4 and pulling the rope on I lost very little height on my laps between Strezi and Merewether.

"I knew I shouldn't have taken that last pill"

Manilla Long Weekend 08 I suppose I should give an update on the long weekend in Manilla. For those of you that are secretly hoping that the flying was crap so that you won't have to read through another post about other pilots getting air while you were mowing the lawn or painting the house your prayers have been answered. The weather was less than epic.

Saturday 30th August, North East Heaton

A great attendance for the end of winter weekend and our firs attempt at a flying a club comp round for 2008.

Fourteen pilots set up on the northeast Wattigans track with slightly unpredictable soaring conditions available to our requirements the unstable air mass seemingly over shadowed by an increasingly widespread middle and upper level cloud in our area, south to northeast breezes was forecasted at the coast most pilots seeing light cycles coming mainly from straight in front launch, occasionally it was nil wind or coming across from the right through out the launch phase of the day.
