Port to Port MTB event

By admin | Wed, 11/05/2022 - 12:04

Hi All,

In our monthly event notifications for Merewether the NPWS has included a notification of the MTB Port To Port event.

As I don't believe that this will exclude us from flying at our site I have not included it in our wedding no fly notification.

It is to take place on the 21/05/2022 from 08:00 to 17:00 and we can expect increased activity in the area during the day.

Please remain cautious and err on the side of safety with increased crowd presence.

Kind regards

Dick McWhinney

By JOD | Sat, 10/04/2021 - 05:22

My good mate Richard 'Dick" McWhinney passed away suddenly on Thursday arvo from cardiac arrest.

Dick introduced me to hang gliding and taught me ground handling and some low level glides before I learnt to fly with Rosco 32 year ago.

He was helping install some brackets that he designed at Dicko Surf Club - his passion for many years - when he had the attack.

Dick had been on the NHGC Exec several times in his time with the club and passed on great knowledge and flying wisdom. I will miss the annual B & P on the grassy slope above the baths each year.
