Intro Hang gliding Event

This Sunday the 25th this event wil take place at Red head dunes.

Please contact me for exact location on the day.

We need more assistants, if you have some spare time between 1pm to 4pm, please let us know.

Dick McWhinney

My good mate Richard 'Dick" McWhinney passed away suddenly on Thursday arvo from cardiac arrest.

Dick introduced me to hang gliding and taught me ground handling and some low level glides before I learnt to fly with Rosco 32 year ago.

He was helping install some brackets that he designed at Dicko Surf Club - his passion for many years - when he had the attack.

Dick had been on the NHGC Exec several times in his time with the club and passed on great knowledge and flying wisdom. I will miss the annual B & P on the grassy slope above the baths each year.

Coastal Hang and Para Gliding Sites Cleanup Australia Day

As requested at last night's monthly HG meeting, I've registered and organised a home page for our proposed Cleanup Australia Day contribution and appointed myself as the supervisor and Adriaan as the emergency contact in my absence.

I've spent a bit of time adding and revising the site.

The add new content link has been recreated and based on your subscription status you will see all the choices available to you.

Hickson street events will now be displayed on the right hand side of the page or down the bottom on smaller screens. The time will only be visible to authenticated users who are logged in.

Pete's had a hardware upgrade

Pete Marheine is looking forward to flying, riding and all the other fun things we take for granted now that he has had a hip replacement. He's looking pretty good on his feet and will get the go-ahead from the quack this week hopefully.

He was happy with our Christmas wishes and made sure I was well lubricated :-)
