General discussion about flying.

flying with eagles

By Allan McMillan | Sun, 12/10/2014 - 05:27

Thermals at Wellington are easy to find. Just look for the eagles. I found this one - a juvinile obviously had not flown with gliders before. First it tried to fly with the trike (tug) but found the prop and quickly turned away then on its way back to me found the tow line and did a quick about turn. This eagle was flying with me for about 10 mins. It was curious and did not try to strike me. But even so as a precaution I will be installing some eagle eyes.

Worlds first official RAA tug pilots are now located in Denman NSW Australia.
Go out there and receive a complimentary photograph, before tow, alongside one of these legends.
Bruce the RAA CFI was suitably impressed with these guys skills and knowledge of all things important. And I assure you no short cuts where taken (seriously).
Congrats boys and please don't let this new offical title go to your head and forgot us mere mortals.
Woohoo!!
