So it turns out that Adam is getting back into flying RC after a few years off the horse...and knowing how well he used to fly his RC gliders i had no hesitation in letting him have a fly of a couple of my planes at empire with the buddy cord attached between our transmitters for a little bit of insurance....but no amount of instructing RC prepared me for what Adam had in mind....After flying my Piper Cub impeccably i told him it was time to have a crack at one of my ducted fan jets, the F4 Phantom. He was apprehensive at first till he got a feel for the little speed demon, and was soon flying it as well as he did the Cub. SO, i said, why don't you have a go at landing it mate. Adam typically played down his natural ability and said he was nervous...but i insisted. And so Adam started his approach to land, and not only landed the grey girl just as well as anyone could, but decided even to show off a little and challenge himself to a spot landing...which he nailed.............right into the only (and sloppy) STEAMING DOG TURD in Empire Park!!!!. When we arrived at the scene the look on Adams face was priceless, he couldn't work out whether to laugh or cry! Personally i am still laughing randomly and uncontrollably as i write this post. Not only did he manage to hit said STEAMER, but he hit it perfectly in the centre of the aircraft, smearing foecal matter the entire length of the airframe! A few hundred squares of paper towel later and order was restored and the Phantom cleaned up and readied for its next encounter with the 'Skygod'...but my stomach still hurts!
