If you create Blog posts on this site or you are able to promote posts to the front page then read on or click the title of this post.
Blog posts are put on the front page automatically. Most content can be promoted to the front page but you must have certain permissions switched on.
The front page is the first page you see when you point your browser at nhgc.asn.au. In an effort to have it load quickly I suggest that you make use of the "Split summary at cursor" button at the top right hand side of the "Body:" field where you enter your message initially.
When you do this the body will split into 2 fields. The first field is what is shown on the front page. Keep this brief. One or two lines should be enough to spark people's interest so that they click on the post title. This will take them to the full post.
The second field is the main body of the post. This is where you should put pictures and movies and write as much as you like. If everyone keeps the first field brief the front page will load faster and users won't have to scroll as much to get to the content.
