We have good news! the site development plans for the Watagans Sites have been approved by Forestry.

Now before we get all excited and start sharpening the chainsaw blades, we do need to approach this in a coordinated manner and it's thanks to Jason his skill and expertise that we got the site development plans approved.

And before we start falling trees and yelling timber! Remember That we do have plans to work too and to legally operate a chainsaw in the Watagans State Forest you need to be a certified operator and work to a safety management plan.

Jason is working on a plan to carry out the works and we are looking at 4-5 working bees in August and September.
There is also earth mounds to built and cover with astroTurf and a whole new site to clear and build - Heaton Park.

My hope is that all will get involved and work to the plans so we can development these sites to a high standard and where we only need to do some annual pruning maintenance work.

The rule is before you start swinging the axe or cranking up the chainsaw you need to talk to Jason first so we can coordinate our efforts and work too the approved plans.

There is quite a few large trees that will be do dangerous to remove ourselves and our plan is to leave them to the experts and we are planning to apply for funding to have these removed. This planning has commenced.
